Summary
|
For Agentschap NL, Kema has investigated five scenarios for large scale bio-SNG (synthetic natural gas) production in order to 'green' the natural gas supply for NL. These are compared both from a cost and a renewability / CO2 perspective. It concludes that bio-SNG is presently not an economic alternative for fossil fuels, but should be comared to other renewable options. One assumption is that bio-SNG should enhance diversity of energy source for security of supply. This extensive document also covers and documents gasification and biomass processing technologies (like torrefaction).
