Summary
|
Extensive report on curtailment of excess electricity in Germany, considering the years 2010 and 2011. Curtailment was due to oversupply in 110 kV transmission grid and in transformer stations in northern Germany. Increased curtailment is observed during years of strong winds. The report also points to the problems that Germany faces in reimbursing wind parks (there are different legal justifications and different methods for measuring the value of curtailed energy that has to be reimbursed).
