| Summary | To the knowledge of the authors, this is the first time a comprehensive, transparent and systematic approach to calculate the total actual electricity consumption for domestic appliances for the 15 countries forming the EU in 2001 and updated to 2006. And as the present total consumption is of relative importance only, the calculations have been extended to the past 15 years and also include scenarios for the next 10 years up to 2010 at least. |
