| Summary | This analysis aims at estimating the future cost development of solar photovoltaics to support further discussion. Solar photovoltaics is already today a low- cost renewable energy technology. Solar power will soon be the cheapest form of electricity in many regions of the world. Financial and regulatory environments will be key for reducing costs in the future. Most scenarios fundamentally underestimate the role of solar power in future energy systems. |
