Analysis generation costs - Coal

Published 2012 / 05
Summary The generating costs of both PWD as IGCC have increased. The main line of reasoning found is that costs have increased steadily over the last years due to the combination of increased in demand of these technologies and an increase of commodities (steel) and energy (see notes EIA and Energieraad). Unfortunatly the literature study has limited value as reports are very general or do not include the detailed information needed to come to these conclusions (e.g. reasons cost escalations), therefore an external expert has to be consulted.
